Animal Lifeline is a registered charity founded over
30 years ago. It's purpose is simple - to save dogs from neglect, cruelty and needless
destruction and find them new and caring homes. Animal Lifeline
rescues and rehomes around 400 dogs each year, making it the largest
voluntary rehoming agency in the region. It normally has over 100
dogs and puppies in its care.

Our Policy
Animal Lifeline has a policy to NEVER have dogs put down. All animals are looked after until rehomed, some will never find a home - and we love and look after them for the rest of their lives.
Volunteers
Animal Lifeline is run by an Executive Committee, whose members are also its Board of Trustees and are legally responsible for its management and administration. 98% of Lifeline is volunteer based, and our sanctuary, Serendipity, on the Leek Road, Cellarhead is thanks to a bequest from The Douglas Hodges Trust.
