About Us

Animal Lifeline is a voluntary group and a registered charity – details at foot of this page – founded more than 44 years ago and is based in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. Its purpose is to save abandoned and unwanted dogs and puppies and find them new homes and loving owners.

Each year the charity rescues and re-homes around 300 dogs and puppies and has saved more than 11,000 over the years . It always has at least 100 dogs in its Serendipity Kennels, awaiting re-homing. It never has any dogs put down unless on veterinary grounds. Those that cannot be found new homes are kept in the sanctuary as part of the Animal Lifeline ‘family’.

Lifeline normally re-homes dogs only in the North Staffordshire and South Cheshire.
The charity is self-supporting and relies on its own fund-raising efforts and public donations to maintain its vital activities. All Trustees and officials are unpaid.
Donations are always appreciated – see Donations & Fundraising page.

This website covers all aspects of Animal Lifeline’s work which can only be achieved through your generosity, either by volunteering to help us, giving goods or by donation.

Animal Lifeline is a charity registered with The Charity Commission, England & Wales.  Our stated aim is to care for abandoned dogs and puppies and find them new homes in the North Staffordshire and South Cheshire region. This involves housing them at our Serendipity rescue kennels at Cellarhead, Stoke on Trent, feeding and walking them and ensuring they receive  good veterinary care, then finding them new ‘forever homes’.

Details of current and publicly available registered details of the charity are available through The Charity Commission’s website and can be seen by clicking here then entering our charity number 1041362 or name in their search box.
